Jamie Dyce is the Executive Director of Beyond Bedtime (formerly Pajama Program), the only nonprofit in the United States solely dedicated to sleep health education for children and families experiencing poverty. Since stepping into the role in 2017, Jamie has led the organization through a period of transformational growth, broadening its mission, expanding national reach, and embedding evidence-based sleep health education into the core of its work.
A former volunteer, board member, and Board Chair, Jamie brings both personal commitment and strategic vision to the role. Under her leadership, Beyond Bedtime conducted a national needs assessment, launched programming to support parents and caregivers at bedtime, and in 2020 acquired Sweet Dreamzzz, a Detroit-based nonprofit with a nationally recognized sleep curriculum. Today, Beyond Bedtime provides direct services and sleep education through partnerships with schools, shelters, and foster care agencies across the country, with a goal of reaching at least 250,000 children annually by its 30th anniversary.
Jamie’s early connection to the organization was rooted in her love of children’s literature, her upbringing as the daughter of a longtime public early childhood educator, and her pro bono legal work with young women and girls who have survived commercial sexual exploitation. But since becoming a parent herself, Jamie’s connection to the work has deepened. She knows firsthand the emotional weight and daily challenges of bedtime—even with access to resources and a deep professional knowledge of sleep health. That lived experience has only strengthened her belief in the need for equitable access to sleep support for all families, especially those navigating poverty, instability, or trauma.
Prior to joining the organization full time in 2016, Jamie practiced trusts and estates law in New York City for over a decade. While at Duane Morris LLP, she led the firm’s pro bono partnership with GEMS, a nonprofit supporting survivors of trafficking. That experience shaped Jamie’s commitment to prevention and reinforced her belief that consistent, nurturing routines can change the trajectory of a child’s life.
Jamie holds a J.D. from SUNY Buffalo School of Law, a B.A. from Binghamton University, and an Advanced Certificate in Taxation and Estate Planning from NYU School of Law. She lives in Westchester, New York with her family and is a proud Buffalonian.
